De Montal Armagnacs come from Gascony in the best region of Nogaro Bas Armagnac. The soil of the Bas Armagnac consists of rough sand for character and light aromas and gravelly clay for lightness and gentle fragrance of enriched prunes. The Montal Armagnacs are aged in the Chateau de Rieutort in the heart of Gascony. Oliver de Montal, a real musteteer personally selects the barrels for bottling. The Montal family harvest in the Bas Armagnac the premier cru region of Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc, Bacco and Colombard grapes. Their ageing process is more than required, giving the Armagnac its famous golden colour.
Topaz gold colour. Aromas of saffron and dried fruit. Taste of apricots and nuts with long silky shades of gentle oak. The vintages are rare and are collector items, very good amber brilliancy, apricot glints, and a bouquet of exotic peach.
