Vermentino di Gallura, Bianco Superiore Selenu, Tenuta Gregu, DOCG, Sardinia, Italy, 2021

Selenu is a Vermentino of Gallura Superiore made with pure Vermentino grapes hand harvested and picked up at the first light of the morning, still wet from the dew of the night. Pale yellow colour, aromas of wild flowers, citrus and saffron with intense flavours of yellow fruits and pears, delicatley fresh with richness and great balance.

For more than 90 years the Gregu family have been cultivating wine in the northeast of Sardinia. Their property extends over an area of about 50 hectares, in the countryside of Calangianus in Gallura which is a unique and uncontaminated vineyard at the base of Monte Limbera. Their land is made from granite decay that is combined with a particular microclimate of sea breezes making the habitat for the cultivation of vines ideal allowing for exceptional nuances and intense aromas from their wines. Gallura is the only DOCG area on the island of Vermentino demonstrating its superiority amongst other Vermentino in Italy. The Salunu Vermentino di Gallura Superiore DOCG is made with pure Vermentino grapes that are picked first light in the morning, still wet from the dew of the night. It is the finest expression of Vermentino in Sardinia.
